Meet Sharon Wright, Welsh fantasy doll artist, well known for her wonderful lifelike little people who seem to be able to reach out and take your hand. Her work is well known and loved in her  home community  and she was recently featured on Welsh TV.

Sculpting in the OOAK doll community for five years now , Sharon feels she is improving each year

She is, like many of us, self taught

Her favorite artist was Beksinski, a renound Polish painter who was murdered in 2005.

She sometimes gets a little frustrated while working and finds she can't sculpt if she is tired as she just can't concentrate then but when she gets a great idea, she gets excited and can't wait to get sculpting!

Her wonderful characters  are currently for sale only on eBay, but she is  working on a website and hopes to sell from from there soon.

Sharon usually finds her inspiration from within ,From the depths of her mind.

Sculpting mostly at night, with the TV on in the background She  works with Prosculpt mainly and paints her pieces with acrylics...Finishing with an array of wonderful and unusual and often vintage materials and findings .

  Her tip for new artists?

"Really just believe in yourself, and always think only the very best you can do will do! You can’t do more than that. Only time and determination will improve your work".

She mostly works in her own home, working in  her living room but hopes to have a studio some day soon.

Photography, walking her dog on the beach, listening to music and poetry keep Sharon hapy when she is not busy making those wonderful characters,

Born and raised in the beautiful North Wales, Sharon  lives in Pwllheli ,  The beach is right by her back yard gate, She says"I love where I live, it makes me happy".

Sharon told me "I have a daughter called Arian, she is 18 and a very good kid, I’m so lucky to have her in my life. I was recently divorced and I’m single and very happy! I spend most of my time making my fantasy dolls. A typical day for me depends on how I feel as I suffer from M.E, so if I’m tired I cant do as much as I would like, but on a good day I will walk my dog to the beach, then do my work and when its quite late I will take a break and watch a good movie . I sometimes find it hard being blessed with this talent because my mind never switches off and it’s hard to find a balance between my work and other things that are important in my life, but I make it work somehow and mainly just go with the flow. It’s a pleasure for me to share my work with everyone, that really makes me happy".
