Judy is a self taught artist for the most part.  "I've been fortunate enough to meet other artists who have helped me along and inspired me in the process.  I've been sculpting for around 12 yrs...I've lost track, it's been such an enjoyable part of my life.  I started late in life and encourage others, no matter their age or limitations to try as well, it's never too late".

She lives in central California and works out of a small studio in her home. "It allows me to create sometimes at very odd hours, working when inspiration strikes, and, sometimes it strikes in the wee hours of the morning.
My mind rarely stops to rest when it comes to my work".

"I've been known to say that my creations sometimes speak to me and refuse to co operate until I follow their direction. I have regrets for letting a few of them go, but, I truly feel blessed that so many people really love my hearts work, and that's what it is.  It comes from my heart".

Judy sculpts in a Fimo blend that She uses for its strength and ease of use.  "I absolutely love using antique textiles and vintage, hard to find settings to display my work.  Its a thrill to find treasures from the past in local antique and junque shops. My other pleasures are spending time with my grand children and quiet evenings at home".

"My biggest fan and supporter is my husband Larry who I met 47 yrs ago when he was 16 and I was 17. He supports all of my endeavors and loves my work even when I don't.  Love is blind. LOL  He's wonderful! Opposites attract in our case, I'm shy and introverted, he is extremely outgoing. We raised three great sons, who presented us with three lovely daughters in law and six wonderful grand children".

Judy has two Chihuahuas, Rusty (named after her father in law) and Charlotte. "Never thought I would have one, let alone two of those shaky little dogs, but these two have changed my opinion.  They aren't shaky and only shiver when they are cold, which is rare since they sleep on a heated throw.  They're spoiled, but they have spoiled me in kind with unconditional love and devotion".

"I've met so many lovely people, collectors and artists alike.  My friend and fellow artist Terry is my rock, she listens, but won't put up with too much whining. LOL  She is always there with an encouraging word.  I have friends who started out as collectors of my work in the early days, and we still stay in touch. I value their friendship tremendously.

I have Rheumatoid arthritis and have adapted my way of sculpting over the past couple of years to compensate. I dread the day when I can no longer sculpt. I'm exploring ideas for other creative outlets, I can't imagine giving up.   I love what I do!"
